Here is your weekly dose of “The Weekly Wrap,” a list of what I’m enjoying or pondering:
- Investment article I enjoyed the most this week – All of us have assumptions about our investment portfolios and overall financial life. A short post by Ben Carlson, CFA points out that some of these Faulty Assumptions.
- Podcast of the week – another feature from the investment world was a discussion between Barry Ritholtz and Leon Cooperman. For anyone interested in learning from one of the most successful men in business and investing then this is for you. Leon shares his motivations, daily routines, and the passion that drives him.
- Wine I Enjoyed the Most – Brown Estate Vineyards holds a deep spot in my heart. The family is amazing, the wine is amazing and the experience is amazing. If you’re making a trip to Napa don’t skip this tasting experience. The 2013 Chiles Valley Zin is one of David Brown’s (winemaker) favorites and it didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed it this week at dinner in Silverlake at Blair’s Restaurant (our go to favorite).
- Documentary that shocked me – Trojan War didn’t shock me because of the content but more that I sat down to watch it in the first place! As most of you know my allegiance is to the UCLA BRUINS! but this is truly a great film on the success of the USC Trojan Football program. A lot of lessons here, especially on vision and leadership.
